In Saint-Guillaume, QC, an uninsulated crawl space was causing floor movement and instability in the support beams, due to moisture infiltration clearly visible in the first photo. The excess humidity had begun to compromise both comfort and structural integrity.

To resolve the issue, Systèmes Sous-sol Québec installed a complete CleanSpace® Encapsulation System, paired with CleanSpace™ Drainage Matting. As shown in the ‘after’ photo, this custom solution created a sealed, durable environment that prevents moisture from entering and damaging the space.

To further enhance protection, we added the SmartDrain™ system, designed to detect plumbing leaks beneath the liner. If a leak occurs, it redirects water safely while sounding an alert—providing early warning and peace of mind for the homeowner.

This tailored approach not only stabilized the crawl space structure but also safeguarded the area against long-term moisture issues. The result is a clean, dry, and resilient foundation that helps preserve the home’s value and comfort for years to come.

Problem

Water was still to seep into our client's basement, despite him redoing his french drain recently. During the free inspection, our specialist Jorge explained that the French drain, despite its popularity, can have certain limitations. It can get clogged due to the accumulation of soil inside. Besides, its maintenance is costly and time-consuming, which requires excavation.

Solution

- We installed the WaterGuard interior drainage system around the perimeter of the basement, on the foundation footing. The WaterGuard pipes have a 3/8-inch protruding flange to channel water from the walls directly into the system. Additionally, the WaterGuard system features a series of openings for easy access to the drains for cleaning, inspection, or repairs.

- We connected the drain to our revolutionary SuperSump sump pump, which, thanks to the Zoeller pump, can absorb up to approximately 14,500 liters of water per hour.

- We installed a discharge line with our IceGuard system to prevent any flooding in case of freezing of the discharge line.
