A client residing in Saint-Georges-De-Windsor, Quebec, was facing alarming issues within his basement. In fact, there were multiple cracks visible from the inside, as well as water infiltrations. Client had also an old sump pump which was clearly inadequate. In addition, the excess humidity has resulted in the joists being weakened, thus compromising the house's foundation. We combined our systems for basement waterproofing and foundation repair to tailor a perfect solution that will provide long term protection: Our patented WaterGuard internal drain was installed, linked to our SuperSump sump pump system. Next, we installed CleanSpace Wall to regulate the excess humidity. Lastly we installed our powerful galvanized steel PowerBrace beams to support the joists and thus to prevent any structural damage. Our specialist advised the installation of a complete drain perimeter called WaterGuard in order to recuperate the water that infiltrates before it spreads into the basement.

The gathered water is discharged into a sump equipped with two pumps. A main one with another that works with battery. This way, the system works even in case of a power cut.

Having an open sump is one of the problems that will cause a high level of humidity in a basement.

This sump in East Hereford was not doing its job since at each great rain the water ended above the slab of this basement.

We have replaced this old pump with our SuperSump pump and this basement is now completely waterproofed!

This pump has a hermetically closed system (no moisture that emerges), which installs with a floor drain and an alarm system.

SOLUTION

Our client chose the SuperSump pump which includes; 1 electric pump, 1 alarm and 1 drain. This pump includes an IceGuard. The IceGuard helps prevent the water that the pump sends outside the house from freezing. If this discharge is prevented by frozen water, it will return to the pump and break it, making it unnecessary. This water will therefore go to your basement. A Lawnscape is also often used at this water outlet to prevent soil erosion, damage surrounding landscaping and prevent entry of insects.

Each of these elements has been specifically created to collect the large amounts of rain during our Quebec springs. SuperPump can pump 2,200 gallons per hour, quietly and efficiently. Our client can now enjoy a dry basement, year round and protect his investment.
