The WaterGuard Drain is specifically designed to be placed above the base on a bed of rocks, slowing down the flow of water and preventing the drain from clogging. In addition, it is important that it contains a 3/8 inch built-in space between the floor and the wall to drain infiltrations from the wall. Spacers visible along the wall allow water to be collected in the drain while blocking dirt and debris. Once covered with concrete, the drain merges into the decor without damaging the structure of the foundation. In order to perform system checks, we also install an inspection port that allows access to the drain and ensures its smooth operation over the years. The WaterGuard drain is the new technology in drainage and its effectiveness is proven!
Problem
Water was still to seep into our client's basement, despite him redoing his french drain recently. During the free inspection, our specialist Jorge explained that the French drain, despite its popularity, can have certain limitations. It can get clogged due to the accumulation of soil inside. Besides, its maintenance is costly and time-consuming, which requires excavation.
Solution
- We installed the WaterGuard interior drainage system around the perimeter of the basement, on the foundation footing. The WaterGuard pipes have a 3/8-inch protruding flange to channel water from the walls directly into the system. Additionally, the WaterGuard system features a series of openings for easy access to the drains for cleaning, inspection, or repairs.
- We connected the drain to our revolutionary SuperSump sump pump, which, thanks to the Zoeller pump, can absorb up to approximately 14,500 liters of water per hour.
- We installed a discharge line with our IceGuard system to prevent any flooding in case of freezing of the discharge line.
Before, this Granby homeowner faced a common but frustrating issue: a cold, damp basement plagued with excess humidity. Notice in the before photo the signs of moisture along the walls, a problem many in our region can relate to. Fast forward - our team installed WaterGuard and SuperSump systems, revolutionizing the space into a dry, comfortable haven. In addition, our SilverGlo pannels installed on the wall serve as thermal insulation in order to keep a warm temparture. As you can see in the after photo, the transformation is remarkable. Our solutions not only solved their immediate concerns but also secured their basement against future water issues, ensuring a reliable and lasting fix to make their home feel whole again.
When you suffer from water infiltration in your basement, always check whether your sump pump is working efficiently.
This is what we advised our client who had contacted us asking for our advice!
The TripleSafe sump pump, such as the one installed in our client’s basement in Trois-Rives, is designed to protect you from any problems that might occur with standard sump pumps. As well as an alarm to alert your attention to any problems, it also uses a specially designed Ultra Sump battery (not an automobile or marine battery) and another pump to backup the primary pump. This ensures the TripleSafe sump pump continues to work even in case of a power failure or pump malfunction.
Facing an alarming vertical crack inside the basement, the homeowner in Saint-Damase seeked our help. Our specialist explained in details how this cracks is driving water infiltration inside the basement, and thus increase humidity levels which will deteriorate the quality of air inside the house.
As a remedy, we installed our revolutionary FlexiSpan system including a polyurethane-based sealing with a second membrane that will cover the crack and push any escaping water infiltration to the drainage system.
Client was satisfied with the result, knowing that he won't have to deal with this crack anymore.
