These homeowners were worried that someone will trip and fall because their front porch stairs were broken and had sunk. They also frequently have friends over so they feel like it is an eyesore and an embarrassment. This is their forever home, so they want to enjoy coming home and utilizing the space their front porch provides.
We assessed that the soil under the concrete was voided and with the weight of the stairs, it cracked the slab at the bottom of the last step. The two slabs leading up to the stairs had also fallen and it was only a matter of time before the rest of the slabs experienced the same fate. To restore the curb appeal of the concrete we started by using a jack to prop up the stairs and inject PolyLevel foam under them to stabilize the area. We then lifted and stabilized the other two slabs that had fallen. All control joints were cleaned and caulked with NexusPro. Now this couple can feel good about having friends come over!
This homeowner wanted to make his front step safe for kids because his family is planning on fostering more kids. The previous homeowner had patched up the step, but it didn't repair the drop the steps have experienced due to soil washout underneath. This acted as a bandage to improve the appearance, but not a real solution. We used PolyLevel foam to lift and level the step, filling the voids and compressing the loose soil that remained after the other soil was washed out. Now this step is safe and secure for the homeowner and his family.
These homeowners were experiencing sinking in their driveway near the garage apron, causing a noticeable bump whenever they pulled their car in and out of the garage. This issue was both an eyesore and a constant annoyance.
To resolve this problem, we used our polyurethane foam to lift and level the concrete back to the garage's original level. The foam is injected under the slab, where it fills the voids, expands, hardens, and lifts the slab back into place.
The homeowners were thrilled with this solution, finding it more permanent than mud jacking, and they were ready to enjoy their improved driveway throughout the summer months!
This sidewalk was in need of a makeover. PolyLevel foam was used to raise the uneven spots back to a level surface, then we used NexusPro to seal the joints protecting the concrete from future damage. The sidewalk now is protected and looks brand new!
This homeowner had a hot tub in the middle of his patio. The concrete under was starting to settle, and he did not want water pooling up next to his home. He was having troubles getting anyone to come out to look at this. He saw Thrasher's ads, and decided to give us a go. He liked that we were local and family owned! System Design Specialist, Brock Scott, came out to meet with him. Brock determined the concrete along the home was settling due to fill soil, and water collection. He also noticed the weight of the hot tub was not helping. Brock proposed we seal up the joint along his home with NexusPro Join Sealant, as well as his expansion joints to prevent the area around them from settling. He also proposed we use PolyLevel foam to lift and level the concrete back to where it belongs. Even though the hot tub could not be moved completely out of the way, we were still able to get this project completed. This homeowner was so happy with the finished product! There is no doubt that he is relaxing in his hot tub, worry free of any more settling or unwanted water collection.
