Nasty Crawl Space Runnells Iowa

Crawl spaces left unattended can slowly deteriorate.  Mold growth, bug and spider infestation, moisture, and odors develop and increase over time.

Cleaning up and fully encapulating the crawl space is the safest and healthiest way to not only improve the space itself, but to improve the air quality in the rooms and floors above.

Crawlspace Encapsulation in Bondurant, IA

This homeowner was worried about mosquitoes and mold in her moldy, wet crawlspace. She was also concerned about her children because the mold and high humidity are associated with harmful allergens. She had heard of our services and she wanted us to give her a permanent solution for her home to be dry and with low humidity.

We sent System Design Specialist Kevin French to inspect the crawlspace and determine what was causing the mold and mosquitoes to live there. Kevin found that the crawlspace was completely wet and that the AC condenser line was dripping into the middle of the crawlspace without any drainage system. The water was just sitting there, causing the crawlspace to be wet, and the humidity to grow mold quickly. Our team wanted to protect this homeowner's home right away, so we sent a crew to start encapsulating her crawlspace. Our team utilized CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to encapsulate and protect the home from moisture, a sump pump with a proper discharge pipe to bring water away from the home, and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to bring down the humidity level and purify the air.

The homeowner was so happy with the way everything turned out and he was very appreciative of all the things the crew was able to do for him. Check out his newly encapsulated crawlspace!

Wet Basement in Iowa Falls, IA Waterproofed

Dave H. has been wanting to finish his basement to add more living space. He noticed that water was entering in multiple areas, and it was affecting the project. Looking to continue with finishing the basement, he called Midwest to learn more about waterproofing his basement.

System Design Specialist Tyler Dopheide went out to Dave’s home. He was able to identify the areas that water was coming in and come up with a water proofing solution for the basement. The crew started with installing WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement and then installing a Triple Safe Sump Pump, so then the water would have a place to go and not collect in the basement. Then to keep the walls dry, we encapsulated the space with CleanSpace. Dave was very happy with how the project turned out and gave us a 10/10.

Drafty Crawl Space and Wet Basement Fixed in Nevada, IA

Gary H. was tired of having a musty odor in his basement each time it rained. He spends a lot of time in his basement, and it is very cold and drafty and a lot of excess moisture. Looking for a solution, he decided to call Midwest.

System Design Specialist Frank Lindsey went out to his home. Frank was able to see that the crawl space is attached to the basement and was creating a draft and musty odor. The crew installed drainage matting and CleanSpace to encapsulate the crawl space, so the walls would remain dry. We also removed existing insulation from the floor joists and ceiling. To keep the rest of the basement dry, WaterGuard was also put in, to direct the water out of the basement into the sump pump.
