This single family home in Portland, CT was in need of a new roof. After tearing off one layer of existing roofing material, we replaced 3 sheets of damaged plywood decking. In accordance with the new building codes, we were sure to seal all joints on the roof deck with flashing tape. We then installed two rows of an ice & water barrier near all roof eaves, valleys, chimneys, etc. In terms of shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System with IKO Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the color Charcoal Grey. We finished the job by installing a brand new Ridge Vent. This ridge vent comes with a Weather Protector moisture barrier and proved top-notch consistent attic ventilation. After taring off the dated materials, we had to do some structural repair by replacing the rotted rafter of the dormer with CDX plywood, a durable form of sheathing used specifically for roofing.
