The problem
Moisture problems in the crawl space, water infiltration, and a non-functional sump pump.
In addition, there was water on the floor near his sump pump.
Our client wanted to transform her crawl space into a dry place where she could store her belongings.
Solution
For now, our customer has chosen to have a new SuperSump sump pump system installed with a 1/2 HP Zoeller cast iron pump. This removes water from the ground and expels it outside away from the foundation to prevent flooding. We also do recommend a WaterGuard interior drain system to help against water infiltration.
The family that lives in this beautiful mansion in Westmount continually suffered from problems caused by the crawl space under the house. Moisture, cold floors, musty smells and floors that squeak finally pushed the owners to call us in order to encapsulate this space under their house.
Our specialist Peter Romaniuk recommended to install the CleanSpace encapsulation membrane to cut moisture and reduce mold, as well as the wall panels Silverglo to insulate the exposed parts of the foundation wall. The difference is evident in the pictures you see here...
Problem
Ms. Wilberg had a wet crawl space with water seepage. Moisture comes from the earthen floor, but also from the concrete foundation walls.
Solution
We installed a drainage membrane and a CleanSpace vapor barrier. The drainage membrane creates a drainage space below the Cleanspace to direct surface water to the customer's sump pump system. CleanSpace is a 20mm thick coating that acts as a vapor barrier. It insulates the floor of the house by blocking out moisture.
This client initially contacted us in 2015, because he was starting to consider doing something with his crawl space. After receiving several tips, he postponed the project until he decided what he wanted to do exactly. In May 2018, he contacted us again to tell us that he wanted to sign with us. He wanted us to completely encapsulate the house of the earth and solve the problem of water infiltration that appeared. So we installed a crawl space drain so that the water was collected and redirected to the SuperSump sump pump system. Finally, the CleanSpace membrane isolates the house from the earth so that the water vapor does not humidify the space.
Mrs. Lucier from Plateaux –Mont Royal in Montreal noticed that there was a moisture problem causing bad smells in the house.
After much research on the internet, she found Basement systems Quebec and following her call we sent a team of Professionals to perform a complete encapsulation of the crawlspace.
The team installed a CleanSpace membrane which is designed to create an ultra-resistant barrier against moisture, preventing mold growth. This product is guaranteed for 25 years against tear and wear and the liner is a heavy 20-mil-thick material.
After the installation, the Crawl Space looked so bright and clean and our client was able to use her Crawl Space area.
