We recently helped Bridgton, Maine homeowners encapsulate their damp crawl space with dirt floors. They were experiencing high moisture and wanted to avoid any damage to the structure of the home. We installed drainage matting along with CleanSpace vapor barrier liner. CleanSpace seals out moisture, and also helps prevent mold growth in the crawl space. We added a TripleSafe sump pump to remove ground water away from the home. TripleSafe sump systems have three pumps, one of which operates on a battery back up in the event of power loss. A SaniDry Sedona high efficiency air system was also installed, which both filters the air and controls humidity in the crawl space.
We helped homeowners in Bridgton, Maine who were experiencing a very musty crawl space, and they had concerns about mold due to the musty odors. To help prevent mold, we encapsulated the crawl space with CleanSpace vapor barrier and drainage matting. These products seal out moisture, keeping the crawl space dry and protected. CleanSpace is made of an inorganic material, so it is mold resistant. We also installed Spray Foam insulation around the rim joists and crawl space hatch. Not only does Spray Foam insulation improve the energy efficiency of the home, it is also water and mold resistant. Not pictured, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was added to keep humidity at a healthy level, and its filtration system removes the musty smell.
Homeowners in Oquossoc, Maine previously had a thin plastic layer installed in their crawl space to attempt to offer moisture protection. They found during heavy rains that water was coming in and getting very close to their electrical and septic systems. They contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help properly encapsulating the crawl space. We installed our two-step encapsulation system, consisting of drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier. Drainage matting controls the groundwater flow, while the CleanSpace liner is installed above to seal moisture out of the crawl space. CleanSpace is made of an inorganic material, which also helps prevent mold growth.
We recently helped homeowners in Portsmouth, NH with their failing crawl space. Their old sump pump no longer worked, the fiberglass insulation was damp and sagging away from the home, and the dirt floors were allowing moisture to come in. We encapsulated the space with drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier, sealing out water. A SmartSump pump with UltraSump battery back up was installed to ensure they never had sump pump issues again. Spray Foam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists to create an air tight seal, providing immediate energy savings for the homeowners.
This Kittery homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems after their basement flooded for a second time. We protected their basement using WaterGuard connected to our TripleSafe Sump System. From the TripleSafe, all water is pushed out of a buried discharge line, far away from the house and in an area that will no longer cause any issues for the homeowner.
Typically, this would be the end of the work, but this homeowner has a crawl space connected to the basement that would still need to be delt with to fully protect the home and give the homeowner piece of mind. To do this, foreman Jesus and his crew put down a layer of Drainage Matting and encapsulated the crawl space with CleanSpace and Spray Foam.
Now this Kittery homeowner can sleep easy at night knowing they no longer have to worry about waking up to anymore floods in their basement.
