Living with a damp basement for some time, this Hope, ME homeowner was in the market for a solution to their problem. After a call to us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and a free estimate from our sales rep., they were ready to have us get started on a WaterGuard installation to protect their basement. When our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on the project by excavating the existing slab to replace it with a fresh slab fitted with a Drainage Matting beneath. A WaterGuard piping system was installed around the perimeter of the new basement floor, hidden just below the surface. Once the slab dries, the WaterGuard piping will capture any moisture leaking in through the foundation in the future through small slits along the lower edge of the piping. The WaterGuard feeds directly into a TripleSafe sump system installed in the floor as well. The TripleSafe houses three pumps, including a battery-powered backup pump to keep the basement completely free of water year-round. Finally, the discharge line leaving the home was fitted with IceGuard & LawnScape pipe segments to provide further protection against ice or debris that might have otherwise blocked the line and caused problems.
With these new installations below their home, this homeowner now has the permanent waterproofing solution they were looking for. The WaterGuard & TripleSafe combination will maintain a dry basement for this homeowner for years to come!
This Brooks, Maine home was under contract to sell but a home inspection revealed the foundation had a bowing wall, and the basement needed a sump pump. To repair the foundation wall, we installed StableLock Wall, which is a new concrete wall poured next to the failing wall. We add extra supports to keep the home safe and stable, while also preventing the original wall from continuing to bow or shift. Additionally, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump to manage the groundwater, pumping it away from the home to keep the basement dry. The TripleSafe has two Zoeller pumps and a third battery backup pump, so it will operate in all conditions!
These homeowners in Thomaston, ME were ready to upgrade their basement and crawlspace into a more pleasant space. After normal movement and pressure against the foundation walls, they've experienced some water leaking in and damaging the walls and floors. The crawl space became difficult to walk through, and the moisture made the air quality very poor.
We were called to give an estimate to repair this space. A system design specialist went out and designed a complete system custom for this space to keep it dry all the time. A SmartSump pump system was installed to collect and drain any water that enters the space. IceGuard allows the water to flow from the sump pump out through the discharge line without freezing. Our CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system was installed in the crawl space with Drainage Matting underneath. We also recommended a SaniDry to control odors, mold and humidity.
The space is now dry, clean, odorless, and safe. The best part it, it will stay like this for the life of the home! With yearly servicing we can ensure it all works perfectly and add on whenever necessary.
We received a call for help from Rockland, Maine homeowners who were tired of their old sump pump kicking off and not keeping up with the incoming water. We upgraded their system to our TripleSafe sump pump, the top of the line sump system. The TripleSafe sump has two Zoeller pumps and a third battery backup pump to ensure it works even if the power goes out. It can handle a capacity of over 6,600 gallons of water per hour, making it a great alternative over pumps you can find at the big box stores.
An office building with a finished basement was flooded in Rockport, Maine, damaging the drywall. The building was built on ledge and was not waterproofed to prevent groundwater from entering the space. We installed WaterGuard interior perimeter drainage to collect water seeping in at the cove joint. WaterGuard connects to their sump pump to then pump the water away from the home. We cut out the damaged drywall and installed EverLast Wall restoration. EverLast Wall panels are a rigid panel system that is made of inorganic material so it is waterproof and mold resistant. We install metal studs behind it, which will not rot or grow mold.
