Brand new roof on this beautiful home in New Milford, CT

This home had many issues with it's roof, some were primarily cosmetic and others were compromising. Due to this, we needed to replace the roof right away and we started with the demo.

Ripping the old shingles off was first, we needed to see what condition the decking layer was in and how much of it needed replacing. Surprisingly this roof's decking layer was in excellent condition and we only needed to replace one small section of it. Next, we started on the sealing layer where we laid down 3 separate materials to create a breathable yet water-tight seal on the home. First, we use strip tape over all the seams made by the plywood and along any other edge or seam. Next is our Sealeron Ice and Water, which is laid down on the roof most vulnerable areas like valleys and lower edges. Finally, a synthetic underlayment is laid down over the remaining uncovered decking layer.

Now we can move on to the last step which is installing the flashings and shingles. The flashings are installed in vulnerable openings in your roof like chimneys and skylights. The shingles need to be installed in such a way as to ensure that they do not have any compromising gaps between the pieces. To accomplish this we always start at the bottommost corner of a roof and work our way up and across layering and nailing each shingle.

By the end of the day this roof was completed and the homeowner was ecstatic about their brand-new roof that looked absolutely stunning.
