At around 27 years old, the asphalt shingle roof hadn’t developed major leaks or visible failures yet, but based on its age, replacement was the smart move to stay ahead of future problems. After reviewing the condition of the roof and discussing long-term protection, we moved forward with a full roof replacement. This barn-style garage located in Westbrook, CT required a new roof and Klaus Larsen Roofing was able to do just that! We started this project by tearing away one layer of existing roofing materials and disposing of them properly. We inspected the roof decking for damage, and we found 3 damaged plywood decking sheets which we removed and replaced. To protect against rain and snow, we installed two rows of Ice & Water Barrier as well as a layer of Synthetic Underlayment to help repel water. For the shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System with Dynasty Architectural Shingles in the Granite Black colorway.
