This single-family ranch was in need of a new roof and decided to trust Klaus Larsen Roofing with the job. To start, we tore off 2 layers of existing roofing materials and replaced 5 layers of damaged plywood decking. We then installed 3 rows of Ice & Water Barrier near all eaves, valleys, chimneys etc. In terms of shingles, we installed a traditional tan to compliment the homes exterior. Lastly, we installed brand new chimney flashing, a new attic vent and vent hood. This house is now complete thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!

Grant and Karen, proud owners of a beautiful home in Chester, CT, knew it was time for an upgrade. Their 26-year-old asphalt shingle roof had a history of leaks around the vent pipe, and they were unsure about the durability of their chimney flashing. With plans to install solar panels, they wanted a solid, reliable roof to ensure long-term protection.

At Klaus Larsen Roofing, we began by removing the old shingles, gaining access to the plywood decking so we could inspect and replace any damaged areas. The deck was then securely re-nailed with 8d ring-shank nails, specifically designed to stay put, giving the roof an extra layer of durability. Next, we upgraded their chimney and skylight flashing, addressing their concerns about leaks and preparing their home for the new roof.

To protect the most vulnerable areas, we applied the Sealoron XT Ice & Water barrier along the edges and valleys, and the VeloraOne Roof Underlayment was used across the rest of the roof to ensure a waterproof seal. With all new flashing in place and every corner fortified, we topped it off with IKO Dynasty shingles—a heavy-duty product designed to withstand winds up to 130 MPH. These heavy-duty shingles ensure Grant and Karen's home is ready to face even the harshest New England weather while adding a fresh, vibrant look.

In the before image, the shingles are covered in a layer of white staining, with the color visibly leaking down the roof, creating an unsightly and unwanted appearance. This is certainly not the image the homeowners wanted for their property. During the roof replacement, our skilled team removed the old, worn flashing around the chimney. We then installed an Ice & Water seal around the chimney, ensuring a tight, leak-free barrier. Afterward, we applied new, high-quality aluminum flashing to provide both protection and aesthetic appeal. The after photo highlights the progress of the installation, showcasing the clean, sleek look of the newly flashed chimney. Not only does it elevate the appearance of the roof, but it also offers long-lasting protection, ensuring no future leaks. At this 1990s home located in Somers, CT we completely stripped off the existing roof and replaced it with a new roofing system. We first tore off the existing shingles and roofing material and hauled them to the Asphalt Roof Recycling Center to be turned into asphalt pavement for roads.

We then replaced any damaged plywood decking and laid down Ice & Water Shield to create a moisture barrier between the decking and the shingles. For even more protection,  we installed a synthetic underlayment, a durable, tear-resistant material that is engineered to repel water and adhere to the roofing surface. To top it off, we replaced the old chimney flashing with new lead flashing and installed a VentSure Ridge Vent to provide consistent attic ventilation to the home.
