At this newly purchased home, the owners were seeing that during rainstorms, water would enter the basement under the wall where the floor meets. We replaced the old sump pump with our TripleSafe pump system, which has a twin liner, and the UltraSump battery back-up system with a control box alarm. These three pump systems calibrate automatically to meet the requirements of how much water is pumping out, and the battery backup will protect your home from flooding during power outages.
This long-time Baltimore, MD homeowner has trusted Quality 1st for years to protect their basement from water damage and maintain a healthy home environment.
As part of their ongoing commitment to preventative care, they scheduled their annual maintenance service, during which our Service Technician performed a full inspection of their SuperSump Premier Sump Pump. The visit included a thorough cleaning of the sump pit to remove debris and sediment, a detailed check of all system components, and a performance test to ensure the pump activated and discharged water properly.
Our Service Technician also confirmed that the discharge line was free of blockages, ensuring the system could operate efficiently during heavy rainfall or sudden storms. This type of routine maintenance is essential for preventing unexpected failures and extending the lifespan of the sump pump system.
Thanks to these proactive measures, the homeowner continues to enjoy reliable, year-round protection and the peace of mind that their basement is prepared for whatever the weather brings!
In Baltimore, MD, a homeowner began noticing early warning signs of water damage in their basement, musty odors, damp walls, and visible moisture buildup. As conditions worsened, so did concerns about mold growth, wood rot, and long-term structural damage. Realizing the issue required professional attention, they reached out to Quality 1st Basement Systems for help.
Our team conducted a thorough inspection and designed a customized waterproofing solution tailored to the home’s specific needs.
To permanently resolve the water intrusion, we installed our patented WaterGuard Drainage System along the basement perimeter, which captures groundwater before it reaches the floor surface. A TrenchDrain System was added near entry points to intercept surface water, directing it into the drainage channel. The system was connected to a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump, ensuring efficient water removal, while an IceGuard Discharge Line was included to prevent backups during freezing temperatures. To manage wall moisture and improve the basement’s appearance, we installed CleanSpace Wall Panels, which also act as a vapor barrier.
With these advanced systems working together, the basement is now fully protected from moisture, and the homeowner can enjoy a clean, dry, and worry-free space once again!
This Baltimore MD customer reached out to us because of water intrusion in her basement. Whenever the area would receive a hard rain, she would notice water coming in through the basement wall. Our inspector Jim Logue was sent to the house to evaluate and it was determined the best case of action would be to install our BrightWall Panels and also replace their current sump pump with our SuperSump Pump.
BrightWall is 100% waterproof and will never discolor or rot. BrightWall will stop water vapor from penetrating through your basement wall all while providing a bright clean, semi finished look. BrightWall is also durable and washable.
The SuperSump Pump includes a 1/3HP Zoeller cast iron pump with a mechanical float switch, a WaterWatch Alarm System that will sound off if water rises above point where pump should turn on, a SuperLiner that is heavy duty and has 96 holes that allow water to flow in directly from below the floor and it includes an Airtight Lid that keeps moisture from evaporating in to your basement, the lid also keeps items from falling in to the sump pit and keeps out bugs, odors and radon gases.
At this property, the crawl space was extremely humid, causing the homeowner to have to run 2 dehumidifiers in order to keep down the moisture. By installing our SilverGlo graphite-impregnated insulation around the crawl space walls, it becomes a vapor barrier from moisture. After installing the wall panels, we installed our SandiDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep the humidity at bay and prevent mold that leaves odors.
