PowerBrace System Saves Wall from Complete Failure in Arthur, IA

Edwin O. and Jessica D. noticed that one of the walls in their house was starting to fail and contacted their landlord. In the home was a homemade brace system and concerned for the safety of the home, the landlord gave us a call.

System Design Specialist Corey Little was able to identify the wall was on stage three of wall failure with three inches of deflection and daylight was coming when looking near the top. We started by fixing the wall by installing PowerBrace System which was able to permanently stabilize the home. Since the wall had so much damage, we had to Shortlock the wall. Then we interlocked rebar to the PowerBrace System and sprayed shotcrete giving them a new wall without having to replace the old one.

Not only was Corey able to come up with a solution that allowed them to say in the home the entire time and was the least invasive. The home now feels safe again and the finished product looks great!

Wet Basement Solved in Berryton, KS

This homeowner wanted to give his home to his daughter in the near future, but he knew that the basement was consistently wet. Wanting to ensure that the basement is dry for her, he read our online reviews and decided to give us a call.

We sent System Design Specialist Brandon Powers to inspect the basement and determine what was causing the water problem. Brandon found that water was seeping into the basement through the cold joint, but he knew just what to do in order to solve this problem. He talked to the homeowner, then called a team out to install full perimeter waterproofing solutions. The team installed WaterGuard Interior Drainage System and a full height CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to capture all the moisture and water, then redirect it to the sump pump so it would leave the basement. Also, the team installed a new PolyWell so that the homeowner didn't need to worry about his old one causing problems in the future.

The homeowner was thrilled with the final result. Initially, he only wanted a part of his perimeter done, but after he saw the beginning of the installation, he decided that he wanted to do the whole basement. Check out this homeowner's newly waterproofed basement!

Sinking Driveway Gets Makeover

The soil beneath this driveway was experiencing a lot of movement, and because of that caused the driveway to sink and crack completely across a slab. This created a giant tripping hazard. To fix it, we were able to lift the driveway using PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam that is injected beneath the slab to level and lift back to its original position.

Failing Wall Gets EverBrace System in Hoyt, KS

This customer has had foundation issues for years. She's worked with other companies to get it fixed, but all of the installed systems were failing. When your house has severe wall failure, your entire home is in danger and your family's safety. And that's what was happening here. This homeowner decided to choose Thrasher because we were the only ones able to give her an option that didn't require full foundation replacement. When we inspected the home, we found that her basement walls were in stage four of wall failure. The walls were bowing about 6 to 7 inches in some areas with severe shearing.

When walls are this bad, our best solution is our EverBrace system. It's a less disruptive system than foundation replacement but offers the support the home needs. Here's how it works: steel corrugated panels and beams work together to strengthen and stabilize foundation walls. Rigid foam is then injected to fill any voids behind the steel panels, fully transferring the load from the failing structure to the new support panels.

The homeowner was so happy with how everything went. But most importantly, she now feels safe in her home.
