This homeowner had a lower level room in their home that was damaged by water infiltration. Northland removed the lower damaged portion of the (drywall) walls about 32" from the floor. Once the walls were removed we installed a sub floor drainage system "WaterGuard" and "SuperSump Plus" to protect the space from further water intrusion. Once the space was protected from water the walls were restored using our "Everlast" wall panels. Everlast wall panels are a cement board with a vinyl finish, it is all inorganic so it will not support mold growth and will not be ruined by a surprise plumbing leak, should one occur in the future. The last step to restore this room to better than original was to install our "Thermal Dry" carpeted floor tiles. These floor tiles are great for basements and make a big difference in the comfort of the floor.
This customer planned to finish off their project with a wall-to-wall carpet and decided the ThermalDry Floor Matting would be the best solution for an underlayment. The purpose of the Matting is to isolate the carpet from the cold, hard, damp concrete floor. By not laying the carpet directly onto the concrete floor, it will be warmer, dryer, and better smelling.
