Waterproofing Crawl Space in Harpswell, Maine

This Harpswell, Maine home was recently purchased by new owners and they quickly found out the crawl space was very wet. System Design Specialist Peter F. provided a free estimate to assess where the water was entering and how to best keep the crawl space dry. The owners moved forward with our encapsulation system, including drainage matting, CleanSpace vapor barrier, a TripleSafe sump pump, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, and Spray Foam insulation.

Drainage matting and CleanSpace help seal moisture out, keeping the crawl space dry an dpreventing mold. The TripleSafe sump pump works to pump groundwater away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The SaniDry Sedona controls the humidity to a healthy level, removing over 100 pints of water from the air each day. Spray Foam insulation improves the energy efficiency of the home, and is also water and mold resistant so it is long-lasting.

Crawl Space Insulation Replacement in Harpswell, Maine

Homeowners in Harpswell, Maine contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their damp crawl space that had falling fiberglass insulation. Moisture was weighing down the fiberglass insulation, causing it to pull away from the home, rendering it ineffective. To stop the water intrusion we installed our two-step encapsulation system, first a layer of drainage matting with our CleanSpace vapor barrier installed on top. Drainage matting allows the groundwater to flow freely underneath, while CleanSpace seals it out of the crawl space. We removed the old fiberglass insulation and installed Spray Foam insulation. Spray Foam is a great product for crawl spaces because it is water and mold resistant, while also improving the energy efficiency of the home.

CleanSpace Vapor Barrier Keeps Litchfield, ME Basement Moisture-Free

Tired of living with a damp and dirty basement floor, this homeowner decided it was time they covered it up. After consulting with our team, the homeowner was greeted by our foreman Josh Bridge. Josh then laid a CleanSpace liner across the floor of the space, keeping out moisture and providing a much more appealing surface for the homeowner.

Manchester, ME Crawlspace Protected from the Elements with CleanSpace Installation

Looking to keep humidity out of the crawlspace below their home, this Manchester, ME homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. After receiving their free estimate, they hired us to provide a proper vapor barrier within the space. Our installation crew got started by laying a Drainage Matting across the dirt floor of the crawlspace. This layer rests just off the surface of the floor to create small channels that moisture can flow through without becoming trapped. The water will pool up in the natural low point of the space on its own to drain harmlessly back into the ground. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the entire interior of the crawlspace. This waterproof layer finishes the vapor barrier installation, providing the protection against moisture accumulation the homeowner was seeking. Now during harsh rain or melting snow, any leaking moisture will be blocked by the CleanSpace without gathering in the crawlspace and causing humidity problems for the property owner.

With a proper vapor barrier in place, this Manchester, ME homeowner can rest assured their moisture problems are a thing of the past. The Drainage Matting & CleanSpace combination will maintain a dry crawlspace below this home for many years into the future.

Rome Basement Wasn't Built In A Day, But Repairs Only Took Two!

A homeowner from Rome, ME reached out for a free estimate from TC Hafford Basement Systems to waterproof their basement. The homeowner was frustrated that their space was a wet mess after each heavy rain. Our System Design Specialist Mike M. met with the owner to come up with a plan to address the leaking basement.

WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement and connected to a new SuperSump Plus system. WaterGuard captures and channels water to the SuperSump, which drains it out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that is protected against ice buildup with IceGuard. CleanSpace Wall System was installed to act as a vapor barrier where needed and channel any additional moisture from the walls to the WaterGuard. Drainage Matting, which is a durable barrier with dimples to help channel water and elevate the CleanSpace, was installed on the slab. Now the basement is clean, dry, and most importantly usable!
