A flooding basement was a regular occurrence for this homeowner living in Eastport, ME. Looking to have this problem remedied, they hired us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the job done! Our crew got started by installing a new SuperSump pump to remove any collected water from the basement. Feeding directly into this sump, a WaterGuard piping system was installed around the perimeter of the basement floor. Buried beneath the floors surface, this piping will pull in any future leaks before they reach the inside of the basement. Now any water will be diverted out of the home without causing flooding in this homeowner’s basement again!
Open crawlspaces lead to the elements coming in and wrecking the health of a home leading to mold and cold floors. In worse cases, wood can begin to rot, leading to thousands and thousands of dollars in repair. Moldy crawlspaces can affect not only the health of the home but those living in the home as well. This Bartlett, NH homeowner was worried about the health of their family and wanted to take care of their Crawlspace as soon as possible, making sure the air they are breathing is fresh and clean.
System Design Specialist Sam Crowley met with the homeowner and put together a list of their goals, and together they designed a crawlspace system that would accomplish their goals. The system started with CleanSpace and drainage matting with Spray Foam on the rim joists. To make sure water wouldn’t be a problem, they put in a TripleCrawl Sump Pump System that is connected to an exterior, buried Discharge Line that takes the water way from the home. Mold was an issue in this crawlspace, so Sam and the homeowner opted to put in a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. This ensures that humidity never gets to a point where mold will grow. Together they built this system and ensured the health of the home for the future.
Northwood, NH homeowners reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for help after recent rains turned into a total disaster. They had water coming in from their bulkhead and were frustrated after a night of mopping up a mess. Our System Design Specialist Rick R. met with the owners to create a plan to keep their basement dry.
The main area of concern was the bulkhead, so we installed CleanSpace Wall System inside the area to act as a vapor barrier where needed and channel any additional moisture from the walls to the WaterGuard. WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the bulkhead and basement, along with TrenchDrain in the doorway to the bulkhead. WaterGuard funnels the water to a SmartSump which then pumps it through the new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home and with the installation of IceGuard, the entire system is protected against ice buildup in the winter. Our homeowners no longer have to worry about spending their time mopping up a mess!
Homeowner in Wolfeboro, NH reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems with concerns about the walls in their basement garage. They had dealt with leaking for 25 years, coming from all walls during every rain, and over time causing some wall decay and crumbling. Our System Design Specialist Rick Russell met with the homeowner to review a plan for repair. Our foreman Joshua Benton and installer Korey Sanborn completed the work, including CleanSpace, WaterGuard, and a SuperSump system. CleanSpace is a durable, bright white vapor barrier made of inorganic materials that seals up the area and keeps moisture out. A SuperSump was installed to collect groundwater and pumps out of the basement and away from the home through a new Exterior Buried Discharge line. Now the homeowner is able to relax knowing that their basement garage is protected and their home is more energy efficient.
This Middleton, NH, homeowner was dealing with musty smells coming from their crawl space, and the open dirt floor was leading to moisture issues. The homeowner knew they wanted a vapor barrier to be installed in their basement, so they called TC Hafford Basement Systems for help. System Design Specialist Rick Russell met with the homeowner for a free estimate and worked with them to design a system to keep moisture out of their crawl space.
The first step in encapsulating the crawl space was to lay down CleanSpace with Drainage Matting. Drainage Matting is durable, and with the large dimpled design, a gap is created between the CleanSpace and outside elements. CleanSpaces bright white design helps reflect light, creating a more illuminated area that is perfect for storage. Encapsulating a crawl space benefits the area by keeping out moisture and critters, protecting the home, and creating a healthier environment. A Sump Liner was installed to make the installation of a sump pump easier in the future if it becomes necessary. To finish the encapsulation system, SprayFoam was installed on the rim joists to fully protect the home. Now that the crawl space is fully encapsulated, the homeowners’ worries are taken away, and the space that caused them concern is now a perfect area for storage.
