In the market for an upgrade to their existing sump, this Bangor, ME homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to see what we could do for them. Shortly after receiving their free estimate, they gave us the green light to get started on the installation. When our crew arrived at the home, they began by removing the existing sump from the basement. Once the failing sump was removed, a SuperSump pump was installed in the floor. The new SuperSump can remove over 2,600 gallons of water from the home every hour, which exits the basement through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, IceGuard & LawnScape pipe segments were attached to the discharge line to further protect the basement from flooding. The IceGuard section protects against blockages within the line such as ice by allowing a route for any blocked water to escape the line should water begin to travel back up the pipe. On the end of the line, the LawnScape port provides a grate to prevent debris such as leaves from entering the line and causing blockages.
With their new sump installed, this homeowner no longer needs to worry about any rainwater overpowering their system and flooding their basement. The SuperSump pump will ensure this basement remains water-free for years down the road.
In the last 3 years, this home has been put through the wringer. Mold, moisture, and musty smells have plagued this home in Hermon, ME, and the homeowners decided that they have had enough. The homeowners have goals of finishing the basement and made the decision to call TC Hafford Basement Systems.
System Design Specialist Mark Smith went out to the home and met with the homeowners to put together a plan that helps them achieve their goals. Each waterproofing system that TC Hafford installs is tailored specifically to the home and the homeowners' goals. During this process, Mark spent time with the homeowners to make sure they knew exactly what would be installed in their home, and Foreman Greg made sure that it was installed with the highest quality possible.
The system Mark built with the homeowners included the CleanSpace Wall System that covers the walls and channels water to WaterGuard. WaterGuard is a perimeter drain that is connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump System that’s connected to a buried discharge line. From there, the water is pushed far away from the home where it will no longer be a problem.
Now the homeowners can have the finished basement of their dreams without the concern of water ruining their hard work.
Having lived in the home for a little over two years, this Bangor, ME homeowner wanted to address the mess that their sump pump had become over the years. The open pit and leaky pipes were not only inefficient, but also leaky as well. Wanting to take care of the issue, the homeowner called TC Hafford and requested a free estimate. System Design Specialist Craig Ziegenbein met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a system that would fulfil the needs of the basement.
The old sump was removed, and a brand new SuperSump was installed at the lowest point to make sure all water would be channeled efficiently. New piping was run and connected to a Buried Discharge line outside of the home to take water away from where it could ever be a problem. All Discharge lines are equipped with IceGuard to protect against freezing, ensuring that the system stay efficient even during the harsh Maine winters.
The homeowner is now set up for success and can enjoy spending time in their home without being concerned about their basement year-round.
This Bangor, ME, homeowner loved their home that was built in the 1880’s but knew that they would have to fix the foundation as soon as they purchased the home. Over time, the foundation began shifting and falling in. Worried about their home and the safety of their family, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. System Design Specialist Craig Ziegenbein worked with the homeowner to design a StableLock Wall System that would fix their foundation without the need of lifting their home.
The standard process to fully repair a failing foundation would be lifting the home while a new foundation can be installed. Using modern concrete forming and shoring methods, StableLock is able to fill in the voids of the existing foundation and stabilize it without the need for the family to ever leave their home. StableLock is more affordable and leaves the homeowner with a fresh, smooth wall with all of the best qualities of a new foundation.
This Castine, ME home was recently purchased, and the new homeowners wanted to address the laundry list of issues that reside in the basement. Water damage can be found throughout the basement, and with a goal of remodeling the home, the new homeowner knew it was important to nip these issues in the bud.
System Design Specialist Mark Smith drove out to meet the homeowner with the goal of designing a system that would fix the issues created by water intrusion and protect the health of the home. With water coming into the basement through the walls and floor, the best course of action was to install WaterGuard Perimeter Drain.
First, Drainage Matting is laid down because a new slab is going to be poured. Drainage Matting creates an inorganic barrier to protect the slab. WaterGuard Perimeter Drain is placed down and connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump system. SmartJacks were installed to replace 5 rusted out lally columns to ensure the structural integrity of the home and keep the homeowners safe. The new slab is poured, and a SaniDry Sedona is installed in the basement to maintain optimal humidity levels in the basement. CleanSpace Wall System is installed, and now the homeowner can remodel their home knowing their basement is protected and their home is healthy.
