Shortly after moving into their dream home, this Augusta, ME, homeowner was faced with a problem: their basement would get wet when it rained. Wanting to use their basement for storage without the risk of having their belongings damaged, the homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate to waterproof their basement. System Design Specialist Ken Castillo met with the homeowner, and together they worked on designing a system that would keep their basement dry and their home healthy.
WaterGuard Perimeter drain was installed along the basement walls where necessary to capture groundwater. WaterGuard then channels the water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. In high-traffic areas, TrenchDrain was installed to capture the most amount of water possible. TrenchDrain features a grated cover that can be removed to clear the system and still capture surface water in front of stairs, doorways, and more. The TripleSafe Sump Pump has the power to pump 2,220 gallons of water an hour out of the main pump alone. Water is pumped out through a Buried Discharge Line that takes the water away from the home, where it can’t cause any more issues. IceGuard was installed at the base of the discharge line to prevent ice buildup, keeping the system running at 100% all year round. Now the home is safe from water, and the basement can be used for storage without worry.

Introducing the innovative StableLock Wall System, designed to address the escalating challenges of deteriorating foundations. The conventional approach involving house lifting, removal of the compromised wall, and subsequent pouring of a new concrete wall proved excessively disruptive and financially burdensome. Harnessing cutting-edge concrete forming and shoring techniques, StableLock not only fills voids but also reinforces existing walls, resulting in a seamless, resilient wall that encapsulates the superior attributes of a freshly constructed basement wall.
Preserve both your home and your finances with the transformative potential of StableLock!
After many years of having a dry basement with no problems, this homeowner suddenly found themselves with two to four inches of water on their basement floor after some heavy rainfall. They called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we got to work right away to keep this basement safe from flooding in the future. As soon as our crew arrived at the home, their first objective was to excavate a trench into the perimeter of the concrete basement floor. This allowed for our WaterGuard piping system and a new SuperSump sump pump to be installed in the floor of the basement. Once covered by a fresh layer of concrete, the WaterGuard piping will capture any leaking moisture in the future and guide it to the SuperSump before it has the chance to accumulate on the surface of the floor. The water will then exit the basement through the discharge line coming from the sump. This line, protected by an IceGuard pipe segment, will carry the water a distance from the home before depositing it onto the ground.
With a properly waterproofed basement, this homeowner can expect their basement to once again remain dry for many years into the future. The WaterGuard piping will now protect this basement from any heavy rainstorms that might have caused problems for the homeowner.
Looking to keep their regularly wet basement dry, this Waterville, ME homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems for their free estimate. Liking what we could offer them, they hired us right away to solve their moisture problems. First, to create a barrier protecting against leaking water, both a WaterGuard piping system and CleanSpace liner were installed around the perimeter of the basement floor and walls respectively. The CleanSpace liner will both brighten up the basement interior while providing protection against any moisture seeping through the concrete walls. This blocked water, as well as water leaking in from below the basement will enter the WaterGuard piping buried within the floor. Once inside these specialized pipes, the water is guided straight to a SuperSump installed nearby in the floor. With the help of an UltraSump backup battery for power outage protection; the SuperSump will remove any water that would have otherwise found its way to the surface of this basement floor.
With these new waterproofing solutions in place below their home, this homeowner can expect their basement to remain dry even during heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard & SuperSump duo will keep this home water-free for years to come!
Even with a sump in place below their home, this homeowner was in need of a more capable system to handle the water-removal in their basement. After their appointment for a free estimate with us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, this homeowner gave us the green light to begin work on upgrading their sump system. Our installation crew first excavated a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. WaterGuard piping was then installed within this trench, feeding directly into the TripleSafe sump pump placed inside the sump. While the WaterGuard piping is designed to capture and transport leaking water, the TripleSafe device houses three pumps within itself, to maintain a dry basement during any weather. While the primary and secondary pumps operate off the homes power, the third pump runs off a battery in order to maintain operation during power outages. After installation, a fresh layer of concrete was poured to seal the WaterGuard below the surface of the floor.
With their newly upgraded basement waterproofing, this homeowner will no longer need to worry about their sump becoming overwhelmed and flooding the basement. The WaterGuard & TripleSafe installations will maintain a dry basement for this homeowner to utilize however they may need.
