We recently helped homeowners in Topsham, Maine repair their foundation. The owners had noticed shifting, and one wall in particular was bowing quite a bit. We installed a combination of StableLock Wall system, as well as SmartJacks. StableLock Walls are a great option for foundation wall repair when a wall is cracked, crumbling, or bowing. Rather than expensive excavation and lifting the home we simply pour a new concrete wall in front of the failing wall to give proper support and prevent further shifting. SmartJacks are installed to help support and lift any sagging floors above. SmartJacks are zinc-coated steel posts that are custom fit and can be adjusted over time. The zinc coating prevents the posts from rusting like traditional lally columns.

This Richmond, ME, homeowner was worried about the supports in his basement after seeing their dry wall beginning to crack. Not willing to let the problem get worse, they booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems, and System Design Specialist Lou DiStasio worked with the homeowner to protect their home. A Supplemental Beam was built, and SmartJacks were installed where needed. SmartJacks are constructed of galvanized steel and can be adjusted over time to prevent the floor above from sagging. SmartJacks are a permanent solution to sagging and bouncy floors and can be installed in crawl spaces or basements. With the floor above stabilized and protected from sagging, the homeowner can live in their home confident that their floors are supported properly.

We helped homeowners in Madison, Maine who had a bowing foundation wall that was getting worse over time. They were concerned the wall would completely collapse, putting their home in jeopardy. We poured a new StableLock Wall against the failing wall. StableLock is our patented system that has special bracing to support the home and prevent the original wall from shifting further. Moisture in a crawl space can cause great damage over time, leading to mold or wood rot of the supporting beams for the home. Once moisture has weakened the beams, the floors above will sink and sag.
