Recently, this homeowner faced the issue of bowing block walls in their basement, which you can see by horizontal and stair-step cracks. Their basement was filled with personal belongings, making the situation even more challenging.
Understanding the homeowner's need for stable basement walls, we installed PowerBraces, a wall stabilization system, along with strategically placed anchors. This solution not only prevented further bowing of the walls but also ensured long-term structural stability, giving the homeowner the peace of mind they needed.
Linn wanted to fix various issues in her home to sell it without worries and use the basement for storage. The basement had problems with walls, settlement, and water damage. We fixed the walls using PowerBraces, which is a reliable support system. Settlement issues were corrected with push piers, and we waterproofed the basement with WaterGuard, full-height CleanSpace, and a sump pump.
Linn was very happy with our work and communication throughout the project. She would happily recommend our services because of the positive experience and peace of mind she got. Even Linn's son, Allen, was impressed and felt more secure.
Our efforts solved multiple problems, provided effective solutions, and made Linn's selling process worry-free. The home's value was also increased.
Norma W. in Pella, IA, called us at Midwest Foundation Repair and reported extreme humidity levels in their basement during the fall season. Our System Design Specialist Jon Patterson arrived at the home and saw that the humidity was higher than any of the homes we inspect during July. To solve this, the customer chose to have our complete waterproofing system installed to keep their basement dry year-round. This system consists of our WaterGuard interior basement drainage system, CleanSpace waterproof barrier, and a SaniDry dehumidifier for excess moisture. Norma couldn’t have been happier with our solutions and the efficiency of our crews.
This homeowner had a problem with their walls bowing and showing signs of foundation failure, like cracks and crumbling. Midwest's solution for this is called the EverBrace, a wall restoration system that is made of steel panels and I-beams used to reinforce the existing structure. Our installation team also injects a special foam to fill the gaps between the wall and the panels to make it stronger and look nicer. This new support system took the load off the failing wall, giving the homeowner a strong foundation without the high cost and disruption of replacing the entire foundation.
This home was experiencing hydrostatic pressure, which is when saturated soil exerts a lot of pressure on foundation walls they start to bow inward. The homeowner had only bought the home a year prior and started to notice the walls coming inward and was concerned the home was going to collapse. To fix this, we installed two wall stabilizers: PowerBraces and Geolock Wall Anchors.
PowerBraces are a wall repair system that's designed to stabilize basement walls. They are steel beams that go from floor to ceiling and are secured tightly against your wall with brackets anchored to the floor. Once tightened, they are able to reverse wall failure and straighten the wall overtime. GeoLock wall anchors are also designed to permanently stabilize your foundation wall. They are a heavy duty anchor system that are embedded into stable soil away from your foundation wall and then connect to steel anchors with long, galvanized rods.
