This homeowner had recently finished their basement to get it ready to put on the market. During the spring, when the ground melted, they noticed water coming in from behind the stairs, ruining the drywall. So they called Midwest to come out and inspect. Mike Portal was the one to perform the inspection. He found that the water was coming in behind the finished walls through the cold and mortar joints on the block wall. This happened due to hydrostatic pressure from water filling up around the foundation.
To fix this issue, we installed WaterGuard and CleanSpace along the wall where the water was coming in. This will help direct and drain the water away from the home.
The homeowner now feels confident in our solution and is happy they won't have to deal with water ruining any more drywall in their home.
