This homeowner wanted to maintain his driveway and extend the concrete's life to prevent having to replace it down the road. The area where the driveway meets the garage door was noticeably settling a few inches, which created a little speed bump. When we inspected the concrete, we realized there were voids underneath the slab into which the concrete was sinking. The best way to fix this was to use our PolyLevel foam. PolyLevel is an expansive foam that we inject beneath the slab. Once injected, it expands and then hardens to fill all voids. Once it hardens, it's able to lift the slab back to its original position. We also did a little crack repair with our NexusPro crack sealant.
This homeowner was growing concerned because there was water leaking from four of her basement walls. She recently moved to Iowa from Colorado, so she took her sister's advice and trusted Midwest to waterproof her basement. We installed CleanSpace wall vapor barriers on all four walls and also installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This basement is now completely dry!
Midwest Foundation Repair went out to Indianola, IA to encapsulate a home owners crawl space. Encapsulating a crawl space will help the mold and mildew throughout the house.
This homeowner had serious problems with their foundation walls rotting which affected the structure of their house. Many people and contractors often just try to fix the wood rot without dealing with the main issue. In this case, too much moisture and humidity caused mold to grow and the wood to deteriorate. We used a combination of sealing and dehumidifying methods to control the moisture. Our team installed a vapor barrier in the crawl space and a self-draining dehumidifier to remove extra moisture and prevent damage in the future.
This customer had a dirt crawlspace that was causing problems like moisture, cold air, warm air, and bugs getting into their home. To fix this, we used CleanSpace encapsulation and drainage matting. The CleanSpace was attached to the walls with special wall anchors to keep out moisture and other things from outside. It was also installed on the dirt floor to stop moisture from the soil and groundwater. The drainage matting helped with the waterproofing too. We suggested installing a sump pump or smart drain to remove any water that might come in. With the combination of smart drains, drainage matting, CleanSpace, and sump pumps, the homeowner now has a protected and safe crawlspace that can be used for storage without worry.
