Uneven and sunken concrete slabs along a driveway in Peoria, Illinois, created hazardous tripping conditions and threatened long-term structural damage. Unsealed joints allowed rainwater to penetrate the subbase, eroding the underlying soil and creating voids beneath the driveway flatwork.

To eliminate the hazard without invasive concrete demolition, System Design Specialist Tim Rollet evaluated the site and designed a targeted repair plan using PolyLevel® Concrete Leveling and NexusPro® Joint Sealant through MidAmerica Basement Systems.

Foreman Justin Maddox and crew member Devin S. arrived on-site to execute the precision lift. The team drilled small injection ports through the sunken slabs and pumped high-density PolyLevel polyurethane foam directly beneath the concrete matrix. As the foam expanded, it filled subterranean voids, compacted loose supporting soil, and lifted the heavy slabs back to a level, stable plane.

Following the lift, Justin and Devin S. sealed all cracks and expansion joints with NexusPro Joint Sealant. This flexible, UV-resistant sealant creates a durable barrier that blocks future water infiltration and prevents subgrade soil erosion. The crew patched the injection holes, leaving behind a smooth, safe, and long-lasting driveway surface ready for immediate use.

Homeowner Dennis was concerned when over time his driveways started to crack and began sinking. When he contacted MidAmerica Basement System he was interested in learning more about the PolyLevel serv ice hat we offer. PolyLevel is a foam that is injected under the slab of concrete, the foam fills the void under the slab and then lifts the slab as the foam expands.

In Bradford, Illinois, a homeowner faced a dangerous hazard from uneven, sinking concrete around their property. Unsealed joints had allowed surface water to wash away the soil beneath the slabs, creating empty voids and causing the heavy concrete to settle unevenly.

To resolve the hazard without tearing up the concrete, System Design Specialist Rob Chismark developed a targeted repair plan using PolyLevel® Concrete Leveling and NexusPro® Joint Sealant through MidAmerica Basement Systems.

Foreman Justin Maddox and crew member Devin S. executed the restoration. The team drilled dime-sized holes into the sunken slabs and injected high-density PolyLevel foam. As the foam expanded, it filled the empty voids underneath, compacted the loose soil, and lifted the concrete back to its original, level position.

Once the slabs were aligned, Justin and Devin S. applied NexusPro Joint Sealant across all open seams and cracks. This durable, waterproof seal prevents future rainwater from washing away the subgrade soil. The crew then patched the small injection holes, leaving behind a smooth, safe, and fresh-looking concrete surface that protects the homeowner and their guests.

Jim has had a couple of different companies come and level his driveway, all having the same result, unsolved problem. He had heard of the new injection technology offered by MidAmerica Basement Systems and was ready to try the system before resorting to new poured concrete. Due to the previous mudjacking attempts from other companies, the soil under the concrete kept compressing from the heavy weight of the slurry.
