Beth and Craig have lived in their home for the last ten years. For the last three years they have talked about finishing their basement space. After contacting MidAmerica Basement System to learn more about the Total Basement Finishing options that they offered they knew that they were interested in. Homeowner Sandy has lived in her home for the last 12 years however in the last two years she has been more concerned about the water in her basement. Shee was worried about the water leading to mold and she wanted to make sure that her home was protected. After meeting with a design specialist she knew that a full perimeter waterproofing system was needed in her home. A full perimeter WaterGuard System is used to channel the water out of the home. The new TripleSafe Sump Pump is a three-pump system that comes with a battery back up and a Waterwatch alarm. The battery back issue to keep the system running in case of power loss and the WaterWatch alarm to alert you in case that water in the pump gets too high.
Due to concrete being porous, cold and damp, almost any and all flooring will become ruined and destroyed by the basement floor. Except for ThermalDry Floor Matting. ThermalDry Flooring was designed to be installed in the basement. The snap-together, peg-raised tiles allow for quick installation and allow for air/moisture movement under the flooring. The space between the floor tile and concrete floor does one of two things: prevents water/moisture from condensing under the tiles and creates a thermal break between the cold, hard concrete. The many different color and texture options are all water resistant so you never have to worry about your basement flooring becoming ruined by water leaks or seeping moisture.
After having his basement waterproofed, homeowner, Steve wanted his basement to look like water has never touched it. He wanted the space to be once again functional where his family could enjoy watching TV and playing games. MidAmerica Basement Systems was happy to help! On top of waterproofing his basement, Bill was able to install Elite Plank Flooring to finish off his space.
Real wood should never be installed within a basement. The TheremalDry Elite Plank Flooring system gives you that warm, luxurious look without you having to worry about water or moisture distorting the flooring. It contains no wood at all, just the look of it. It comes in two different shades, a light pecan, and dark walnut. Installer, Bill was able to install dark walnut in Steve's home. The flooring is installed by locking the planks together. They are designed with raised pegs, so they do not sit directly on the concrete floor. They are designed to sit above so water vapor does not get trapped underneath the system. If there ever happens to be any type of water leak the planks can be easily removed and dried and reinstalled as nothing happened!
Homeowner, Steve now has his basement back and can enjoy it once again thanks to MidAmerica Basement Systems! If you are having the same issue as Steve, do not hesitate to reach out to us, we would be happy to help you!
