Klaus’s home in Guilford, CT received a full roof replacement in preparation for a new solar installation. Inspector Mark confirmed the existing 22-year-old roof had reached the end of its service life, and under Project Manager Carlos, the crew completed a full tear-off and system upgrade. In the before photo, the roof's surface is scattered with leaves and debris, as well as debris buildup in the gutters. The homeowner replaced the roof with IKO Dynasty Summit Grey shingles.

Our Brown Roofing team successfully addressed the issue of a leaking roof for this customer. The roof in question was heavily affected by moss growth, which resulted in gaps and holes in the shingles. Consequently, water was able to seep through and be absorbed into the tongue and groove decking layer, ultimately causing leaks throughout the entire home. To resolve this problem, we removed the old shingles and decking layer and replaced them both.

For the new roof, we opted to use a plywood decking layer instead of the outdated tongue and groove system. This choice was based on the superior performance and reliability offered by plywood layers. The customer decided to go with our IKO Dynasty Summit Gray Shingles, which seamlessly complemented the rest of their house's aesthetic.
