Madison homeowner Iris reached out to Brown Roofing for a refresh on her shed roof. She previously had her home’s main roof replaced and wanted the shed to match, especially since the old shingles were heavily moss-covered and showing clear signs of age. One of our inspectors completed a full evaluation and walked her through the options to bring the shed up to the same standard as her home. Our installation crew removed the old shingles, replaced any compromised sheathing, and installed a full underlayment system for lasting protection. For this steep slope roof, our team replaced the shingles and repaired the decking layer. The roof had missing shingles and there was a hole in the decking layer. The first step to replacing this roof is ripping up the old shingles and taking a look at the decking layer, and more specifically the hole that leads into the home. It was decided that we needed to replace the rotted sheets of plywood and replace the sheet with the hole. After that was done, we laid down Sealeron Ice and Water and a synthetic underlayment. With these down, we can move on to installing the shingles and this homeowner decided on our IKO Dynasty Granite Black Shingles. Now that the shingles are installed we could install the gutters and for this home, we installed our Gutter Shutter system. With a brand new roof and gutter system this homeowner can be certain that their home will be protected from the elements.
