Woodbury homeowner Alan reached out to Brown Roofing after noticing a leak around the base of his chimney. His home, built in the 1960s, features a flat EPDM (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) roof: a durable rubber roofing material that requires expert handling. Having worked with Brown Roofing before, Alan knew exactly who to call for a reliable repair. Inspector John visited the property, identified that the flashing seam tape around the chimney had begun peeling away and allowing water to seep in, and reviewed the repair plan with Alan. Our crew then cleaned and prepped the area, repaired the EPDM section around the chimney base, and sealed it properly to restore a watertight finish. The result? This roof in Trumbull had color fade, algae growing in some parts, and loose shingles. Once we took up the old shingles we noticed only some of the plywood decking layer was damaged and we only had to replace a few sheets. This allowed us to save the customer money. After that we laid down Ice and Water along with underlayment. As we went up the roof we installed flashing around the chimney and vents. By the end of the day we left a happy customer with a new roof.
