Justin in Coventry, CT, reached out after a recent roof inspection uncovered several concerns involving both the roofing system and attic ventilation. The inspector noted possible leaks near the lower sections of the roof and signs that past ice damming may have caused damage over time.
After evaluating the home, our team recommended a full roof replacement along with updated attic insulation and ventilation improvements to help correct the underlying issues. Poor airflow in an attic can trap heat and moisture, which often leads to problems like mold, ice dams, higher energy bills, and premature roof deterioration. We removed the existing roofing system and installed SealoronXT Ice & Water Shield in vulnerable areas to help protect against future water intrusion caused by ice buildup and severe weather. VeloraONE Roof Underlayment was installed across the roof deck, along with SealoronXT Deck Tape to seal the plywood seams and add another layer of protection. To help the attic ventilate properly again, we addressed the airflow issues and completed new attic insulation work designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce temperature buildup inside the home. The project was finished with IKO Dynasty shingles in Granite Black, giving the home a sharp, updated appearance while providing long-term durability and protection. With the new roof and attic improvements complete, Justin’s home is now better protected against leaks, moisture, and future ice dam issues while allowing the attic to function the way it should.
Joan's home in Coventry, CT had a roof that was approximately 27 years old, so she scheduled a professional inspection to better understand its condition and determine whether it was time for a replacement. During the evaluation, our team assessed the roofing system and discussed the best long-term solution based on its age and overall performance.
In addition to the aging roof on the main home, Joan also had damage to her garage after a fallen tree branch punctured the roof, creating a hole that needed attention. Addressing both concerns helped ensure the property would be better protected moving forward.
After reviewing the condition of the roof, Joan chose to move forward with a full roof replacement. Our crew removed the existing roofing materials and installed a new system designed to provide reliable protection through Connecticut's changing seasons.
To complete the project, Joan selected IKO Dynasty shingles in Summit Gray. The updated roof gave the home a clean, refreshed appearance while replacing a roofing system that had faithfully served the home for nearly three decades. With the project complete, Joan can enjoy the confidence of a durable new roof and improved curb appeal.
The flashing here was in remiss, allowing water to seep in and cause damage. We applied wood shakes sourced from a cedar mill in British Columbia, and made sure the flashing around the chimney was renewed. Klaus Larsen works with all aspects of your roof. Call us today to see if we cover any of your roofing issues!
We used architectural-style asphalt Tan shingles on this Colchester, Connecticut home. High quality materials that last are a high priority for us.
The entire front porch roof deck was treated with Ice & Water shield and we repaired the damaged collar ties in the attic. Collar ties are structurally important because they prevent the rafters of your attic from sagging. Uneven weight on top of your roof, such as large loads of snow, can cause them to sag and spread apart. They are recommended for roofs with up to approximately 18 foot spans. We also removed all existing chimney flashing and replaced it with new lead flashing.
