Foundation inspection
What made you choose our company:
I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to have Scott Leivian and Matt with Thrasher to inspect the foundation of my home. This is going to be a lengthy review but explains information that should be known. .
I really appreciated the booklet that was sent out by Thrasher about two weeks before my inspection. The booklet helped me understand different types of foundation issues and best suggested resolutions. My suggestion is to read the book. I also received an email from Scott Leivian, Thrasher inspector introducing himself before coming to my home.
Scott arrived promptly and was very detailed during the foundation inspection. Scott explained to me how the inspection tools he was using worked and how it detected foundation issues. During the inspection I noticed Scott kept returning to the front of the house with a side tilted head. He then would continue in other areas of the home but would again return to the front outside area of my house. I noticed Scott on the phone on a facetime call explaining to someone what he was seeing on the front of my home. Scott then explained to me that there were a couple of things he was seeing in the front of the home that is in question and he called Matt to look at my home by facetime.
After completing the home inspection Scott explained that I would need 4 Pillars to lift up the front of my home. He also gave me the cost and explained options of financing the cost. I then explained I would need to speak to my father before making a decision. Scott understood and asked me to call him the next day on my decision. As Scott left I noticed he looked again at the front of the house as he was leaving.
That was a long sleepless night for me. I was stressing that the front of my home is falling apart and how was I going to explain this to my father and the cost of how to get this fixed. The next morning I received a message from Scott asking if I could meet him at my home at 9 a.m. He said that he wanted to come back out with his manager Matt to take another look at the front of the house. I agreed. Matt and Scott arrived at the home and Scott explained he did not sleep and looked over my paperwork and measurements that night. He explained that he wanted a second eye to look at what he was seeing before completing any repairs. That is why he has Matt coming to take a look at my home.
Both Scott and Matt did some measurements and looked around the home and came to the decision that my home is in good standing and does not need the pillars. The sidewalk needed jacking and let me know they are here to support me if I would like Thrasher to complete the work of lifting the sidewalk. This was a major relief for me and I am so grateful that Scott and Matt were honest about my home and what needed to be completed. Matt showed me why my doors were unbalanced and what needed to be done to fix it. I also was impressed how Matt and Scott made a training video of my home as an example for other inspectors for Thrasher on what to look for while they were at my home. This video will help other employees of Thrasher to understand when there is an odd circumstance of a home.
Thank you so much Scott and Matt for helping me get a better night's sleep knowing my home is not falling down. Your honesty is truly appreciated. Thank you Thrasher for having such amazing employees.
